Questions, answered.

What is Heard?

Heard is a voice layer for coding agents. It turns meaningful progress, questions, blockers, test results, and decisions into spoken updates and, on Heard Power, lets you talk back.

Which agents and terminals does Heard work with?

Claude Code and Codex CLI are narrated through first-class hooks. Cloud agents such as Grok Bot, Meta Muse, Devin and Manus report by voice through one MCP connector. Cursor, GitHub Copilot CLI, Gemini CLI and other local agents show their sessions and approvals in Heard. It works in any terminal, including Ghostty, Herdr, cmux, iTerm2 and tmux.

Does Heard need special integrations?

Use a first-class integration when one exists because structured agent events are more reliable than generic output. The open source engine adds a heard run wrapper for other compatible command line tools.

Why use voice for agent work?

Agent runs can take minutes or hours, and checking every tab breaks focus. Heard lets you hear material state changes and return when a decision, failure, or final review needs you.

Is Heard open source?

The Heard engine is open source under Apache 2.0 and can be built with local Kokoro speech or your own provider keys. The downloadable macOS app is the official managed build.

Where does my data go?

The path depends on the features you choose. Source code, full terminal output, and agent transcripts stay on your Mac unless an enabled feature sends a short text snippet for hosted narration or speech. Local Kokoro speech stays on the Mac.

Do you train models on my code or sell my data?

No. Heard does not sell your data or use private work to train models. Heard does not retain narration text, generated audio, source code, terminal output, or agent transcripts on its servers.

What platforms does Heard support?

Heard supports macOS 14 or later. Heard Power lets you pair your iPhone with the Heard companion app for listening and talk back. Windows and Android are not supported today.
