About Heard Parrot
Heard Parrot is the voice assistant inside Heard (heard.dev), the voice layer for coding agents on macOS. Say “Hey Parrot” and ask about a codebase: Parrot reads the code and answers out loud, without changing anything. You can also ask it what your agents are doing, have it start or message a Claude Code or Codex session, open an app or website, explain what is on your screen, or look something up on the web. Heard Parrot is part of Heard Power and is labeled Beta in the app.
You need Heard on macOS with Heard Power, signed in, and Microphone permission for Heard. Parrot reads your code with no setup, and if Claude Code or Codex is installed it can also ask it, read-only, when its own search comes up short.
No. Parrot reads code itself, and when it does ask Claude Code or Codex, Heard runs a temporary headless worker in the background, so no terminal or agent window has to stay open.
Ask about architecture, data flow, feature ownership, service relationships, runtime behavior, dependencies, and implementation details in any codebase Parrot can read.
Not to your code. Parrot’s code tools only read, search and list files, and any coding agent it asks runs read-only, so nothing in your projects is edited. Separately, when you ask, Parrot can open apps and websites, start agent sessions, and pass your instructions to a Claude Code or Codex session, which then works on your code as usual. It asks before anything that sends, deletes, pays or posts. Turn off Settings › Parrot › Let Parrot control apps to stop it opening or using apps.
On Heard Power, say “Hey Parrot, catch me up” or “what did I miss?” and Parrot speaks a recap of the last 24 hours across your projects: what each agent finished, what is still running, and what needs your attention. Name a project to hear just that one. Heard Pro also includes spoken recaps, without Parrot.
Parrot is the voice half of one: a coding companion that answers questions about your codebase out loud and catches you up on what your AI coding assistant did while you were away. It never changes your code: your coding agents (Claude Code, Codex) do the work, and Parrot keeps you oriented.
Not for questions. Heard is the listener and the answer returns through Heard’s voice layer, so asking Parrot does not create another terminal or agent window. It opens a window only when you ask it to, for example “Hey Parrot, open Claude in my billing project”.

Yes, through the Heard companion app on Heard Power. Pair it with your Mac, then type or speak a question about your sessions in the Parrot tab. The answer comes from what your paired Mac knows, and it can be spoken aloud.
No. Heard Parrot is the assistant inside Heard (heard.dev), the voice layer for coding agents. Other products called Parrot are unrelated to Heard.
